Lucknow, Apr 6 (PTI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Uttar Pradesh president Pankaj Chaudhary on Monday said the party’s over four-decade-long journey has been one of struggle, penance, sacrifice and dedication.

The BJP’s 47th foundation day was celebrated with enthusiasm and pride at the party’s state headquarters here.

On the occasion, Chaudhary, who is also the Union Minister of State for Finance, UP general secretary (organisation) Dharampal Singh and state Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak hoisted the party flag.

A large number of party functionaries, public representatives and workers attended the event and exchanged greetings, reaffirming their commitment to the party’s ideology, organisational strength and service to the nation.

Addressing the gathering, Chaudhary said, “The BJP’s journey of more than four decades has been one of struggle, penance, sacrifice and dedication.” He said the party’s success is not the achievement of any single individual or position, but the result of the tireless efforts, commitment and patriotism of millions of dedicated workers.

“Today is not just a date, but a symbol of an idea, a resolve and a nationalist movement. It marks not merely the birth of a political party, but the beginning of an ideological journey inspired by the spirit of ‘nation first’,” he said.

Chaudhary said that at a time when the country was emerging from the trauma of the Emergency and an atmosphere of despair, the BJP emerged from the collective resolve of millions of patriots.

He said that what began with limited resources but immense determination has today become the world’s largest political party.

The state BJP chief credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking the party’s journey to new heights, saying that under his leadership the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas” has become the guiding principle of governance.

Referring to Uttar Pradesh, Chaudhary said there was a time when the state had become a “Prashn Pradesh” (state of questions), where problems abounded but solutions were lacking.

He said it is a matter of pride that the BJP’s “double-engine” governments have transformed it into “Uttar Pradesh” by addressing those challenges.

Dharampal Singh extended greetings to party workers on the foundation day, describing the BJP as the world’s largest democratic political organisation. PTI AR KIS KSS KSS
